Winter in Paris

In September, this historian moved to Paris to teach at a University. This is my story.

I’m sorry I’ve turned into a terrible blogger. (Not that I was ever that fantastic about keeping this up anyway) I left my computer in the states and feel like I am trying to do life with one arm tied behind my back. And by do life, I mean, the Internet. Because apparently that is where my life is these days. :)

It’s been super busy the last few weeks here, finals and finals and more grading! I have a four inch stack of papers to grade and I have two more finals to give! We did manage to find time to both go to L’As du Falafel and the Catacombes! Both were amazing in their own rights. I had the Schawarma Pita at l’As du Falafel and it was delicious for sure.

Anyway, I’ll try to be better at this. If anything I’ve learned how dependent I am on my laptop!

I packed!  Only, I am so jazzed on coffee, I couldn’t hold the camera steadily enough to take a clear picture…  Maybe less coffee?

It’s Time!

I’m heading home tomorrow morning!  I’ll be back in the states for two weeks, I’ll try to update.  I took some awesome pictures of the spring flowers, but I forgot where I packed my camera cord so they are just going to have to wait.

Cheers my dears!

Update

Hello my dears!

Life is racing along at a breakneck speed.  (If life has a mother, she’s yelling at him to stop running like a madman and just sit down!)  I leave for the states in a week and a day and before then I have to write two test sections, grade nearly 400 papers and come up with half a dozen lessons.  My brain has decided to deal with this by refusing to function so I find myself lying in bed, reading, and feeling insanely guilty for not being productive.  The weather isn’t helping.  Our early spring has turned into grey nastiness and I haven’t seen the sun in days, so really, laying in bed reading weather.  I will prevail!  I must!  And then beautiful Colorado sunshine for two and a half weeks.  Yes, please.

So anyway, I’m sorry I have been off the radar and not doing anything particularly awesome lately, I’m just trying to hold everything together for the next week!

Cheers!

Adventure!

The other day I bought a train ticket to Madrid!  I am so excited.  It would be cheaper for me to fly to Seville, but this is my adventure and I want to do it right.  So, overnight train to Madrid, spend the day there and a night at a hostel.  Then train to Seville, train to Cadiz and ferry to Rota to see my sister!  This summer is going to be an explosion of amazing for a year of incredible.

In other news, going out tonight for an early Spring Break Farewell with the coworkers (sans the Brit, since he has a social life here…).  All of us are going to be insanely busy next week so we are doing this early.  Should be fun!

Nine days until I am in the States again!
